Starting care is a big change for a baby and for you. We are glad to talk it through on your tour.

We keep a predictable but flexible routine to meet each child's age, needs and comfort. Infants follow their individual feeding and sleeping schedules. You can see how a day goes on our Programs page.

This is a good question to bring on your tour. We will go through it with you.

We provide breakfast, lunch and snacks. Our meals are healthy, nut free and peanut free, and nutritious to support children's growth and development.

Please tell us about any allergies, asthma or other health needs. We will plan together for your child. We cannot promise a completely allergen-free space.

Safety questions matter, and you should ask them. Here is what we do:

Little Lights Daycare by Luz is licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services as a Group Family Day Care, license 943392, effective April 24, 2026 to April 23, 2030. Group sizes up to 12 kids.

Families who enroll by December 31, 2026 pay no enrollment fee.

Family time matters. Your child can take up to two full weeks off each calendar year at half the weekly rate. Give us at least two weeks' notice by email or text, and your child needs to be away the whole week. Ask Luz how it works for your family: send an inquiry.

Yes, we accept child care vouchers. Ask Luz how it works for your family when you say hello or come visit.

We use the Brightwheel app. Parents get photos, daily reports and secure messages, so you can stay close to your child's day.

Breakfast, lunch and snacks are included. Please bring diapers, wipes and at least one complete change of clothes for the season, with your child's name on it. We will ask you to replace any spare clothes we use.

For babies, bring breast milk or formula in bottles labeled with your baby's name. More in "How do you handle bottles, breast milk, and first foods?"

We close at 6:00 p.m. There is a short courtesy grace period after closing. After that, a late fee applies. If you are delayed, please call or text so we know you are on your way.

We do a daily health check when your child arrives. Children with a fever, diarrhea or vomiting stay home. If your child becomes ill during the day, we call you and ask that you or another approved adult pick up within one hour. In an emergency, we call 911 and then you.

We are open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM, except for announced closures. We close for New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the day after, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We are not closed for Juneteenth.

We accept cash, Zelle and Brightwheel. We do not accept personal checks. Luz will go over tuition and how it works when you say hello.
